Children, adolescents, and families face many complex issues in today’s world. Many parents feel ashamed or responsible when their child is having problems. But bringing your child or adolescent to see a psychologist does not mean you’ve failed at being a parent. Rather, it means you recognize that your child or teen is hurting or challenged and needs help. My focus is not on blame and negativity – it’s on solutions. My commitment is to work with families and provide a road map that will help you make life changes through difficult times. I believe that every child and family wants to succeed. And I believe in the inherent strength and resiliency within every child and adolescent. However, sometimes families become stuck in negative patterns, become discouraged or hopeless, or just haven’t found the most effective solutions to their problems. There are many ways a child psychologist can assist you. Consider taking your child to a psychologist when your child or adolescent is:

Having problems controlling anger or frustration

Doing poorly in school or has an inconsistent academic performance

Having difficulty making or keeping friends

Parents and children respond well to a positive and solution- focused approach. My approach to therapy is professional and confidential, but highly individualized and collaborative. I form a team with parents and children by being an active participant in achieving your goals. FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION
I recognize that when choosing a psychologist - for yourself, your family, or company - it's important to feel it will be a "good fit." As a professional courtesy, I won't charge for our initial session if you feel it isn't a good fit. If you decide that it is and continue to use my services, only then will I charge you for the first session. I hope this policy makes your search for the right psychologist a bit easier.
