TESTING AND EVALUATIONS FOR KIDS, TEENS, AND FAMILIES
One of the most rewarding aspects of our job is helping families with academic evaluations or psychological testing. A family comes to us with a puzzle – all of the pieces are scattered and out of place. Nothing is making sense. We provide a thorough, customized evaluation and help the family fit the pieces of the puzzle back together. Families often give us feedback about how thorough our reports are, how individualized our recommendations are, and how much time we spend focusing on their child or teen’s unique issues until we make sense of the puzzle. We don't provide “cookie cutter” evaluations or reports – each new client is a new opportunity to figure out your child’s strengths, weaknesses, and unique needs. We are passionate about helping families who have a child or teen who has struggled in school or other areas but have never determined “why.” We look forward to working with your family to help put together your unique puzzle.
Psychoeducational Evaluations are available for preschoolers, children, adolescents, college students, and adults. We will help you determine which of the following are most appropriate for you or your child:
• I Q Testing – Determines academic strengths and
weaknesses; also identifies giftedness and mental retardation
• Achievement Testing – Determines mastery of specific
subjects (reading, writing, and math)
• ADHD Testing – Determines the presence
of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
• Academically Gifted Testing – Determines if your child
is academically gifted
• Learning Disability Testing – Determines the presence
of a Learning Disorder
• Dyslexia Testing
• Full Psychoeducational Testing – Includes all of the above,
and also rules out the influence of mental health conditions
• Readiness for Kindergarten Testing (for preschool children) –
Determines whether your child meets eligibility criteria for
• Cognitive, emotional, and personality testing to answer
complex questions about a child's or adult's functioning
• Can also be helpful if a parent wants a child evaluated for
Asperger's Syndrome or Autism
• Abbreviated psychological evaluations or single tests such
as the MMPI-2 or MMPI-A can be given if there are more
specific questions or if cognitive functioning does not need
to be evaluated
