Alyssa Murray, LMFTA, has a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and has experience working with a wide range of children and teens in a clinical setting. She also helps couples, teen girls, women, and whole families dealing with a variety of  mental health concerns. In addition, Alyssa offers group therapy services to children and adults.

Alyssa offers individual therapy, marital therapy, and family therapy. She specializes in the treatment of teenagers, adults, and families, utilizing many approaches tailored to the presenting concerns of the clients. She has extensive experience utilizing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for the treatment of adolescent eating disorders, depression, anxiety, conflict resolution, self-harm, and bipolar disorder. She enjoys employing various mindfulness-based approaches in therapy, and takes a collaborative approach with clients to ensure they play an active role in the treatment of their presenting concerns. Alyssa also has clinical experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solutions-focused therapy, art therapy, and counsels from a family systems perspective.

As a licensed marriage and family therapist, Alyssa seeks to focus on the origins of presenting problems, the strengths of clients, and how past experiences and interactions affect the family system and presenting concerns. Learning how the past is affecting us now is pivotal in understanding the present, and developing new coping skills and patterns of interaction within the family system.

Along with her 1:1 work with clients, Alyssa has experience providing therapy in a group setting for teenagers and adults dealing with a wide range of concerns, including but not limited to: healing after spousal infidelity, effective dating, and DBT skills groups for adolescents. Alyssa also leads social skills groups for children and teens throughout the year as well as week-long social skills day camps in the summer. These groups and camps cover many issues that help kids to develop skills needed to foster healthy relationships and to deal with the challenges of everyday life, including self-control, anger management, gossiping, bullying, shyness, communication issues, and self-esteem.

Alyssa has a Master's degree from Liberty University. She has also worked as a therapeutic assistant at Veritas Collaborative—a specialty hospital for the treatment of adolescent eating disorders. Her experience there has helped her develop skills for handling crisis situations, teaching effective coping skills to handle distress, teaching emotional regulation, and meal coaching for families.

When Alyssa isn’t in the office, a majority of her time is spent with her husband and young children. She is a military wife of eight years, has lived in various states during her lifetime, and understands the many unique obstacles for military families. She enjoys visiting the beach during the warmer months and loves collecting gemstones in the mountains when the weather cools down! She is passionate about all things motherhood (the good and the bad), and has a particular passion for helping women prepare mentally for labor and delivery (especially natural childbirth). Being a woman is a beautiful thing, and she enjoys helping women develop inner confidence and self-esteem!
