Dr. Barrow earned her medical degree from Emory University. She also completed her Psychiatry Residency from Emory's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. In addition, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Classical Civilization from the University of North Carolina, UNC Chapel Hill. Dr. Barrow is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Medical Association, and the American Medical Association Women Physicians Congress. She also holds a seat on the UNC Women's Leadership Council.

Dr. Barrow believes in understanding the biological aspects of a client’s condition to help guide medication and lessen unwanted side effects. She strives to keep prescription dosages and changes to a minimum and to reduce medication dependency over time. And while there are many effective psychiatric medications, Dr. Barrow believes that medication management is not the sole treatment for any condition. Prescriptions often work best as part of a multipronged, holistic treatment which also includes psychotherapy techniques, psycho-education, school accommodations, positive changes in social and family dynamics, etc. As such, Dr. Barrow provides recommendations for additional therapy services and testing services when needed.

Dr. Barrow is married with one daughter and personally understands the complex and everchanging goals of work and life balance. She enjoys partnering with people to navigate life's transitions and provides supportive psychotherapy and medication management to facilitate optimal relationships and functioning. She enjoys listening to music, singing loudly and off key, and spending time with family and friends.
